Meet the Unruh’s

Kurt and Jade Unruh

Kurt and Jade Unruh have been married for over 30 years and are blessed with five children. For more than two decades, the Unruhs have given their lives and career to Jesus-centered education.

Kurt received his Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from the University of Kansas and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Denver. Jade received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Colorado Christian University and her Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Denver.

Beginning with homeschooling in 2003, the Unruh’s have found purpose and meaning in seeking to provide their own children with a quality Jesus-centered education that begins in the home. In 2005, Kurt had the opportunity to be part of the founding team that established Valor Christian Schools in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. In 2007, Kurt became the founding Head of School of Valor and was pleased to serve alongside an amazing Board of Education and hundreds of exceptional Christian educators over a fifteen-year journey.

In 2020, Kurt left Valor to start an educational services professional firm known as NextEd. Kurt also served as a board member for two years for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), the largest association of Christian schools in the world. He then joined the staff as Chief Revenue Officer for two years.

It is evident that the Lord has called both Kurt and Jade to the field of education. As they continue to follow the Lord’s leading, they are thrilled to take this opportunity to help advance a new model of schooling in a courageous way that will provide greater access to Jesus-centered education for thousands more students.
