Core Principle: Parent and Church-Focused

The Lord has given the greatest responsibility over children to parents and the local church. Our model welcomes the involvement of both groups to help guide and encourage.

No doubt, teaching children to love the Lord and obey His Word is primarily the responsibility of godly parents and local churches. Unfortunately, the existing secular education system keeps children away from the influence of their parents for the majority of the waking hours each day, and churches rarely have more than a few hours per week with their students.

The primary alternative to government-provided education is private schools or homeschooling, both of which can be beyond the budget and/or ability of many families. To counter this dilemma, many churches desire to provide their congregation and the surrounding community with a Jesus-centered schooling option, but a lack of resources and expertise often stunts this desire.

Courage Schools acknowledges the need to assist parents and churches in finding a solution. We desire to see local churches around the world open their doors Monday-Friday as families collaborate to educate their children. Consequently, we have designed an economical and scalable model of education that any church can implement in their facilities while still remaining a church, first and foremost.

We believe that the most powerful and effective Jesus-centered education results from the strength that is found in the combination of home, church, and school. A student that is provided a biblical worldview in all three spheres has the advantage of consistency and reinforcement. Furthermore, by starting a school in their facilities, churches have the opportunity to encourage and embrace the participation of parents in every aspect of their students’ lives.

Our ultimate goal is to use education to advance the Kingdom of God. When schools are shepherded by churches, they serve as an incredible outreach opportunity to the surrounding community. There is no better means of imparting a biblical worldview on young people than by consistently communicating the Truth through the three unique, yet connected spheres of the family, church, and school. It is also clear that the Kingdom of God advances better through partnerships where specific skills and expertise are brought to bear on the overall Kingdom impact. It is for these reasons that we believe that the three-fold partnership of parents, churches, and Courage Schools will glorify God by educating and equipping children to be and make disciples.
